About the course

This course is not offered during the fall semester 2019.


The course "Educational development" teaches students how educational development can be implemented at various system levels (individual, group, organization).

The program discusses theories, research and practical experience within educational development in various educational institutions and businesses, where there is a focus on interaction, guidance and development work to promote and improve educational practice.

An example of this would be the most appropriate methods for implementing educational development at school and classroom level. The course is based on an holistic view of learning and there will be special emphasis on the involvement and interaction between different actors. Other elements the course exists of are evaluation work as well as quality and legal aspects of development.

Learning outcome

After completing the course students:

  • have developed the ability to analyze the factors that affect educational development
  • are able to initiate an educational development and define key challenges in educational development
  • have insight in the relationship between research, theory and experience with educational development
  • know the most appropriate methods for implementing educational development at different system levels.
  • can evaluate their own and others conducted development
  • have insight into key legal provisions relating to development in educational institutions
  • are able to apply entrepreneurial learning methods to promote development in educational institutions
