How do you meet the English language requirements for admission to programmes taught in English?

Applicants who are not native speakers of English must document their proficiency in English.

 

Accepted tests:

Norwegian upper secondary school

 

Foundation/level 1 course in English at upper secondary school (140 hours) with the mark 4 or better (alternatively, a pass in the English Advanced course I and/or II)

 

TOEFL

 

minimum total score of 550 for a paper based test (PBT), or minimum total score 80 on an internet-based test (IBT)

  • Applicants who have a university degree in English language and/or literature (a degree in other disciplines taught in English does not meet the requirement, unless it is from the Nordic countries or Great Britain, Ireland, USA, Canada, New Zealand or Australia).

Please note that having worked in an English speaking environment or lived in an English speaking country does not meet the requirement.
