The annual GAP Partner meeting took place on July 5-6th 2016 in Paris, France bringing together representatives from networks around the world to review progress and consult on further action to improve and up-scale education for sustainable development.
Seven PERL/UNITWIN partners participated in the meeting which focused on challenges, achievements and potential synergies for mainstreaming education for sustainable development. UNESCO provided a mid-way report describing activities of the last two years, and a partner profile booklet that presented core information about each of the key partners.
While much is being done in relation to each of the priority areas of the Global Action Plan for ESD, much remains to be done. The partners examined how to better integrate ESD in educational policies and curricula, how to increase whole-institution approaches, how to intensify ESD in teacher training, how to mobilize youth and how to involve communities more actively in education for sustainable development.
