The Tower Person Award for Consumer Educators for 2018 was awarded to long-term PERL partner extraordinaire Declan Doyle, the Vice President for Development
and Research at the Institute of Technology Carlow.
The Taoiseach (Prime Minister of Ireland) Leo Varadkar attended the award ceremony held at the Institute of Technology Carlow on the 27 September 2018, and both UNESCO Chair Victoria Thoresen and Prof. Dr. Heiko Steffens of the Technische Universität Berlin were in attendance to award Declan with the TOPACE award. The Institute of Technology Carlow and its president Dr. Patricia Mulcahy also received honourable mentions during the award ceremony.
