PERL/UNITWIN Action Plan

2015-2016:

1. Launching of UNITWIN collaboration

-Poster (with logos of all the UNITWIN partners around a brief description of purpose of UNITWIN network) to be presented to institutional leader by the UNITWIN contact person

-Suggested action plan shared with partners for comment

-PERL webpage updated to highlight the UNESCO Chair and UNITWIN profile

-Send out first newsletter to UNITWIN partners

-Provide partners with report sheets, offer existing resource materials

 2. Establishment of local reference group and international advisory board

-Letters of invitation to participants on advisory boards

-First meeting of local reference board (February 2016)

-First meeting of international board (January 2016)

 3. Research and concept development

-Coordinate PERL inputs to UNEP document on Sustainable Lifestyles

-Collect case studies of best practice

-Workshop in Vienna, November 2015

-Plan and carry out a workshop/seminar in 2016

-Articles, lectures, workshops (World Environmental Educators Congress 2015; World Resources Forum 2015; IFHE Conferences Malta, Hong Kong, Bonn; Osaka City/Wakayama University; Fudan University, Shanghai China; Education for Sustainable Development Goals Conference Ahmedabad, India; etc.)

4. Policy evolution

-Offer governments guidance for implementation of “Here and Now” core curriculum

-Contact and consult with national focal points for the 10-Year Framework of Programs on Sustainable Consumption and Production and national focal points for the Global Action Program for Education for Sustainable Development

-Facilitate consultations and workshops

 5. Resource creation and implementation

-New “Images and Objects Active Learning” toolkit

-Printing and distribution of Values-based indicators toolkits

-Translations and adaptations of existing toolkits ( Values-based toolkits into Russian; remaining Values-based toolkits into Spanish; Images and Objects #6 into Norwegian, etc.)

6. Capacity building

-New best practices booklet (nr. 4 in PERL series): Learning to Do

-Booklet will contain guidelines about usage of Values-based methodology, active learning methodology and LOLA (Looking for Likely Alternatives)

-Course “Diversity and Sustainable Lifestyles” (HiH)

-Teacher training seminars

 7. Information sharing

-Regular newsletter (3 times annually)

-Website updates

-Resource library at Hamar

-updated international platforms (contributions to SCP Clearing House and GAP Clearing House)

-Use of Subject Aid for distribution of materials

-Offer other networks and projects PERL resource materials
