SINN - the student welfare organisation

SINN is responsible for the student welfare in the Inland region, and runs the student residences (on-campus housing). In Lillehammer campus, SINN also runs the student cafeteria, the coffee-bar, ' Studenten', the on-campus book store and the kindergarten service for students with children. Another important offer includes the on-campus health services:

Student chaplain (SINN)

SINN also has the services of a student chaplain, Anne Anker Bolstad. If you need someone to talk to, or if there is something troubling you, you can get in touch with her. The Student chaplain offers counseling and other services to students. You are welcome regardless your religious beliefs. Student chaplain is bound to secrecy, and no record will be kept. The appointments are free of charge.

Student information centre

The Student Information Centre (Norwegian - Studenttorget) can be found in the heart of the school, near the main entrance and the library. The centre has a front information desk, and offers student advisers, top athlete advising, the admission office, the exam office and the international office.


Campus Lillehammer has a modern and well equipped library located on level 3, with up-to-date literature and an extensive movie collection. As The Norwegian Film School is part of Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences, the latest titles are always present in the library. Your Student ID card allows you to borrow books, movies and other study materials. The library also has a number of reading and study rooms. Students can enter the Library outside of its opening hours by using their Student ID card and the 4-digit code. 


Campus Lillehammer offers on-campus gym for all students for a fee of approximately 300 NOK per semester. Access to the gym is also possible outside of the university's working hours. More information will be given upon arrival. The student group Lillehammer Student Sports (LSI) has the main responisbility for the gym.

All buildings on campus are covered by wireless internet (Eduroam). Students can log in to the wireless internet using their student number (student and password. Students who have access to eduroam in their home institution, can also log in with their username and password from their home institution. New students will be able to activate their account, and log onto Eduroam after ther Orientation Day. 


Tools for admitted students

Please note that most of the following tools are only available to the students during the semester(s) they are admitted. After completion of the exchange, they are no longer accessible to the students. More information regarding the tools will be given upon arrival. 


Canvas is the main intranet where students can access their courses, receive information about lectures, exams and more. This is the only platform where professors will provide information for each course. Please note that the front page is in Norwegian, but once you have logged in, you will have the option to switch to English. Log in with your student number and password. You can log in to Canvas here

Course schedule builder (accessible without log-in)

The complete overview of courses can be found here. Several courses can be shown at one time. The overview will be automatically updated if changes occur. Hence it is wise to check the electronic schedule at least once per week.

To download the time schedule to your phone/computer, press CUSTOMIZE in the right corner, Export and then iCal. It is not guaranteed that downloaded course schedules will be updated automatically to all devices. Therefore, it might be clever to check the web-version or Canvas for changes once per week. 


This is the tool used during the digital school- and home exams. Digital school exams will be written in Inspera. All home exams will be found in, and have to be submitted in Inspera. Students gain access by using their student number and password. To change the language from Norwegian, click in the top right corner. More information regarding exams can be found  here.

Student web

You gain access by using your student number (user name) and password. Here you will find the candidate number, time and place for your exams, including the results from your exam(s).

Student Card, student ID-number, password and pin code

During your first week at INN University, you will need to generate your Student ID-card, which contains your student number. The card (in combination with your PIN code) grants you access to the University outside of regular opening hours. The student card also functions as your library card and for using the printers (see details below). It also gives you discounts on public transport, including certain shops and bars.


After the Orientation Day, the student will receive a temporary password from the International Office that he/she must change themselves. The password must be changed every three months at


All students studying at INN University have access to printers/scanners located in several places at the different campuses' premises. Each starter card is charged with 100 NOK. If you run out of credits, please visit the IT-Department to refill your card. 


In order to activate the service, please use your student card for validation. The printer will display «ukjent bruker» and you will be asked to insert a PUK code. Please proceed with choosing «avbryt». You will then be asked to type in a username, which is your student number and the password that you have created before. Once your account is successfully activated, your student card will be ready for validation automatically. 

If you are logged on to the Campus' stationary PC's, you can just press "print" in the documents, as they are directly connected to the printers.

Scanning documents:

It is not possible to scan documents right after you have activated your card. Please wait one day. Scanned documents will be directly sent to the student's registered e-mail address.
