Svein Erik Nordhagen is scheduled to defend his thesis with a case study of the Youth Olympic Games 2016 in Lillehammer.
Svein Erik Nordhagen will defend his doctoral thesis at the PhD programme Child and Youth Participation and Competence Development (BUK) at Storhove in Lillehammer campus of INN University on 28 August.
The title of the dissertation is “Education of youth through sports during an elite event: A case study of the Youth Olympic Games 2016 in Lillehammer”.
The trial lecture is scheduled between 10.15-11.00 with the title "Legitimization of elite sports through education: past, present and future”. The public defence itself will take place between 12.15-15.30, all in auditorium G. It will be possible to follow the public defence digitally at this link.
The evaluation committee consists of first opponent Anne Tjønndal (associate professor at Nord University), second opponent Josef Fahlen (professor at Umeå University) and committee chair Eivind E. Skille (professor at INN University).
The lead supervisor is Professor Jon Helge Lesjø (INN University), while Professor Dag Vidar Hanstad (Norwegian School of Sport Sciences) is the co-supervisor.
