INN University to receive funds for development of teaching quality

Seed funds should motivate and encourage INN University’s academic environments towards further development of pedagogical practice and internationalization of education (photo: Colourbox).

11 projects at INN University have received funds for pedagogical development and internationalization in education.

In 2018, NOK 1 500 000 were distributed for development projects planned for 2019. Applications were open to development projects related to pedagogical practice, work and assessment methods or internationalization of education.

In total, 29 project applications were received for the total sum of NOK 3 250 660.

Well-established and development-oriented academic environments

An overall assessment of all applications shows that INN University has many well-established and development-oriented academic environments, with numerous successful projects that can contribute positively to a further development of the educational quality at INN University. This is also the case for projects that were not granted any funds at this time.

There has been a clear wish from the education committee that sufficient seed fund would be allocated for selected projects, rather than distributing small amounts of funds to numerous projects.

The consequence is that 11 out of 29 projects have been granted the sum they had applied for. Thus, there is a smaller number of projects that have been grunted support this year than in previous years, to which the entire application sum has been granted.

All project applications this year were deemed to revolve relevant topics, including the ones not granted any funds. Some projects seem to be concrete and feasible regardless of the allocation of seed funds, others revolved the development of courses that should be seen as a natural part of the routine planning of teaching. Moreover, some projects have been granted development funds from other programmes and do not have a pressing need for financial support.
