Dr. Stiliani “Ani” Chroni is professor in Sport Psychology, Pedagogy, and Sports Coaching with the Department of Sports and Physical Education at Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences. She possesses extended, versatile, multi-cultural international work experience in academia, research, sport psychology consulting as well as in sport and action-based organizations. Her research work has developed under two areas, psychological welfare of performers and elements of performance enhancement for athletes and coaches -- she has employed qualitative and quantitative methods to explore the elite athlete-to-coach transition, elite coach stress and organizational support, sexual harassment in sport, athlete self-talk, cognitive hardiness, competitiveness, and on-site coping. She has published extensively in English and Greek languages in books (17 chapters) and refereed journals (64 articles) and has delivered numerous presentations at international conferences and other events. As an applied practitioner she has worked since 1997 with many different sports, levels, and cultures and has been a certified consultant by AASP and the Hellenic Society of Sport Psychology. Through the years she continues to work systematically on women and gender equality researching female athletes’ sexual harassment experiences and advocating for gender equality in sport representing WomenSport International at UNESCO and UN. Ani, is also active with competitive alpine skiing as a Technical Delegate for the International Ski Federation.
