Lars Christie’s main area of research is moral philosophy, with particular focus on ethics of war and individual self-defense.
Prior to joining the faculty at INN University, Christie was a research fellow at Oxford Institute of Ethics and Armed Conflict and European University Institute as part of the ERC project “Individualization of war”. Since 2015, Christie has also been affiliated to ConceptLab at University of Oslo as an Associate Professor II.
In addition to his academic experience, Christie has worked as a foreign service officer for the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He has served as a diplomat in Islamabad and Jerusalem and recently served as a Policy Director in the ministry’s Middle East section, with responsibility for stabilization aid to regions in conflict.
