Jonas Yassin Iversen has a general teacher education from Sør-Trøndelag University College and holds an MA in English teaching from Norwegian University of Science and Technology. He has previously worked with assessing newly-arrived students' educational background, and as a Norwegian and English teacher for newly-arrived students grades 5 to 10.
Jonas Yassin Iversen is researching multilingualism in education, with a particular interest in teacher education and pedagogies for multilingual classrooms. He applies sociolinguistic methods to investigate questions related to multilingualism in education. He is a member of the research groups Diversity in Education (DivE) at Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences and Studies of Instruction across Subjects and Competences (SISCO) at the University of Oslo.
